JACKSON P “PETE” WARD IV, PA – C
Pete is an Atlanta native who graduated from Woodward Academy ’89. He received his undergraduate degree in Human Biology from the University of Northern Colorado ’93, and an Associate’s degree in paramedic studies from Clayton State University ’95. Pete completed the Physician Assistant program Medical College of Georgia Suma Cum Laude ’98. During his 18 year career he has practiced emergency medicine in metro Atlanta, worked part-time in orthopedics; and was a partner in several urgent cares.
LEILA McKINNEY, NP-C, DNP
Dr. Leila McKinney is a nationally certified family nurse practitioner with over twenty-one years of healthcare experience. She began as a registered nurse in 1996, working in oncology, emergency, critical care, and surgical services. After completing her MSN at the University of South Florida (USF) in 2006 she began working as a provider in the ER while completing her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree (DNP), also at USF. She graduated with her DNP in 2009.
In addition to more than ten years as an advanced practice provider in emergent, urgent, and pediatric facilities, Dr. McKinney has worked extensively in academic administration and teaching, including serving as the campus president for Chamberlain College of Nursing in Atlanta for five years. She continues to teach part-time in several graduate nursing programs.
Born and raised in Georgia, Leila was glad to return in 2011 after living nineteen years in the Tampa Bay, Florida area. In her free time Leila enjoys spending time on the water, cooking, and working on her reef aquarium.
