Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Edens was born in Virginia and moved to Georgia in 1974. He attended the University of Georgia for undergraduate work and then moved onto the Mercer School of Medicine. After school, he did his Emergency Medicine Residency at Emory from 1995-98. Dr. Edens has trained at Emory Hospital, Grady Hospital, Emory Midtown Hospital, Egleston Children’s Hospital, and Hughes Spalding Children’s Hospital. He has served as the medical director for several hospitals around Georgia and is currently on staff at Piedmont Healthcare. He is also the track physician for Atlanta Motor Speedway and Road Atlanta.


Chief Clinical Officer

Dan was raised in North Eastern Ohio. Dan’s first foray into medicine came as a position in EMS in 1986 after completing the EMT program at Lakeland Community College, followed by the Paramedic program at Cuyahoga Community College in 1988. For 11 years, Dan worked in all areas of EMS including mobile pediatric and adult intensive care. After EMS, he attended Tri C for the Surgical PA program receiving a gold seal on the surgical boards. Since 1996 has been working as a PA, starting in the OR from ’96 to ‘03 within the Cleveland Clinic Hospital systems, as well as emergency departments in greater Cleveland. Finally, he came to Georgia in 2007, working with an Orthopeadic Spine specialist and currently returning to emergency medicine in northwest and middle Georgia.


Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer

Chris grew up in Cochran, Georgia and attended Middle Georgia College. He then moved on to the Respiratory Therapy program at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta where he graduated with honors. In Macon as an RRT he became a neonatal pediatric specialist. Following this, he returned to the Medical College of Georgia where he completed the Physician Assistant Program, graduating Summa Cum Laude. During his career he has worked in pulmonary critical care, cardiology, pediatrics and spinal orthopedics. In 2006, he began his work in emergency departments and has been there ever since.


Co-Founder and Chief Revenue Officer

Barret was born in North Carolina, grew up in Atlanta, and educated at the University of Georgia, University of West Georgia, and The University of Alabama at Birmingham. After college and some globetrotting, he took a job at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention working with the Director’s initiative for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response. During this time, he discovered a love for “rubber meets the road” healthcare and pursued a degree in nursing. After serving as an emergency nurse he recently earned his degree as an FNP.


Managing Partner and Chief Executive

John grew up in Barnesville and attended Gordon Military College. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Pharmacy. He has over 30 years experience as a corporate executive and entrepreneur in the health care and banking industries, having built and successfully completed mergers and acquisitions in both industries. In addition to his duties with GoMED, John currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Providence bank in Alpharetta, Georgia. He brings his experience and expertise to GoMED in the areas of ancillary services and business development.
